“Quintessentially” – my favourite word! My mother-in-law introduced me to this word and taught me how to pronounce it, luckily she is very patient as it took me a long time but after 30 minutes in the car I did finally get it! And I think it is the most wonderful word!
I am a working mum of a one year old boy, married to an English man (well, he is half Scottish), and all living together in Norway. The ‘wee lad’ has just turned one, and he will hopefully be bilingual when he eventually starts to speak!
After many years together we have found that all though on the surface Norwegian and English people seem to be quite similar there are in fact many differences, all though not obvious, that can lead to a lot of misunderstandings.
Over time I will try to document those differences and the challenges we face in our every day life (e.g to have tea or coffee…)! 🙂
